I am a second year PhD Researcher at Coventry University in the field of art history and curatorial practice. My doctoral research will be surveying sculptural artworks produced by contemporary female artists in Britain since the 1980s. I’m particularly interested in unusual sculptural materials, the processes of making and ephemeral artworks. Through an examination of contemporary curatorial histories, I’ll be further questioning whether there is a gendered aesthetic of making, as well as exploring any institutionalised gender-bias within the British art world.
